With far more pressing demands on your time, you have, once again, gone far beyond expectations.

My small job would have been met by others as too insignificant to warrant quick attention.  But with company coming and a wedding looming, my frantic call to you got immediate attention.

The work was expertly completed with efficiency and good humour.  Always a smile on your face, you clearly love your job and I cannot say enough good things about the work you do and what a pleasure it is working with you.

We are having our neighbours over for dinner tonight to show off and enjoy our wonderful new sunroom. The sunroom looks fantastic and we are both excited and looking forward to the many years of enjoyment we will have with our friends and family on our newly created deck room by Lawson Home Improvements inc.

Joe & the crew did a great job! Their craftsmanship was excellent. No matter what challenge the installation presented they were always quick with a solution and idea to resolve it and move forward keeping the task on schedule. We are very pleased with the work Joe and the team performed at our home last fall. The new windows and doors have made a great improvement to the overall comfort level of our home (no more drafts and very little window icing). Also, the home seems much quieter inside. Your suggestion to use a single-pane casement window in the kitchen was a great idea. We now have a clear, unobstructed view of the countryside which would not have been possible if we had replaced with a conventional double-hung style.

We were very impressed with the professional way Joe and the team performed the work. They took the time to put down dropcloths and vaccumed up whatever mess they left behind, which was usually very little. They were well organized and had everything ready to go as they handles each window, so there was little time (and heat) lost as the old window was removed and the new one installed. They were very efficient and this was really important because of the sub-zero temperatures at the time.

Another feature we really liked is the high-quality window casings used to frame the interior wall around each window. It was evident that Joe and the team take pride in the fit and finish of each installation. Fitting a skirt under each window sill was a nice touch of craftsmanship that many visitors have commented favourably on.

I have obtained a supply of Joe business cards and hand them out without hesitation to anyone who mentions they are thinking of getting new windows and doors, or other renovations.

Letter to the Editor, March 14, 2006: Uxbridge Times-Journal

To the editor:

Late Saturday, while trying to install new kitchen taps, good intentions went very bad. The water supply turn-off valve under the sink was not connected to the tap but only for the dishwasher, and once removing the tap, the water began to spray everywhere. Not knowing where the main shut-off valve was, I called on my son; he had no luck finding the turn-off either.

With no one else to call, Joe Lawson’s name was mentioned and so one of the boys called him to see if he could help. With no questions asked this man, who I had never met, came right out to my home at 1 a.m. and went right to work. He turned the water off, helped clean up and took the time to install my new taps. Keep in mind that is now going on 2 a.m. He then went back home to bring me a dehumidifier to help dry up the area. The evening was very eventful with water everywhere and bodies trying to clean it up with anything that would hold water. By 3 a.m. everything was under control except for the mess. However none of this really was that important when I sat back and thought of these people who had come out to help me. Most of all Joe Lawson, who did this as a good deed and took nothing in return. The purpose of this letter is to say thank you to Joe Lawson for all his help, but also for reminding us all that you can help someone and not always have to get something in return.

Lawson Home Improvements will have all my business in future.
